The Senior Field Engineer provides project management and technical support for the operation and construction of Enterprise's plants and pipelines. The Senior Field Engineer, under the direction of the Manager and more senior engineers, ensures that facility upgrades and changes are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company's Engineering Guidelines and Specifications, Industry Codes & Standards, and Regulatory Agency requirements while also meeting functionality and performance requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates and manages capital projects in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the activities of subordinates including outside consultants.
  • Prepares requests for proposal for outside consultants; prepare bid packages, reviews bids, conducts consultant selection process, and makes recommendation for award of contract.
  • Coordinates project activities; assigns tasks and provides guidance to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the project.
  • Oversees assigned projects to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
  • Monitors project costs and schedule to ensure that the project does not exceed the approved budget and stays within prescribed timeline.
  • Reviews the work of consultant(s) to ensure that Enterprise Products' standards and contractual requirements are being met.
  • Ensure compliance with all steps of OSHA 1910.119 / Process Safety Management and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 10+ years experience in a petroleum/chemical process plant environment with continuous processes and pipelines is required.
  • Experience with distillation, light hydrocarbons, API standards, OSHA 1910.119 (PSM), DOT regulations, pipeline maintenance and construction, and underground storage is preferred.
  • Experience with some or all of the following: process plant construction and modifications, pipeline routing and construction, construction planning, regulatory approval processes, and construction management is required.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Experience with cost tracking, scheduling, and project management in a chemical plant and pipeline environment is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to either work alone or as part of a team, are essential.
  • The ability to sit for extensive periods of time while working with computers, reading, and communicating via telephone.
